Kínai nagy fal | The Great Wall of China

A fal több látogatható szakaszból áll amelyek leginkább Peking körül helyezkednek el. Több barátunk tanácsára Badaling helyett, a kevésbé felkapott Mutianyu falszakaszra foglaltunk egy szervezett túrát. Reggel 7-kor várt a busz és 2 óra alatt a fal tövében voltunk. Közben az idegenvezető magyarázott a fal történetéről és Pekingről.

Ugyan fel lehetett volna túrázni is, mi inkább a libegőt választottuk a kilátás miatt. Felérve a falra egy turistáktól mentes nagy fal várt minket - megérte a korai kelés. A látvány lenyűgöző volt és magáért beszél. Másfél óra alatt 11 őrtoronyit elsétáltunk az egyik irányba, majd vissza. Lefele lett volna lehetőségünk bobozni, de sajnos a reggeli eső miatt zárva volt a pálya.

Hazafele megálltunk egy authentikus helyi étteremben, ahol jót ebédeltünk. Itt is evett mindenből Petra. Még a végén megkedveli a kínai kaját :) Kb. 4-re vissza értünk a szállásra, ahol behoztuk a blog lemaradásunkat.

The Great Wall is split into multiple tourist friendly sections, most of which are situated in the vicinity of Beijing. We avoided the Badaling section, based on many friends recommendations and instead booked a tour to the less popular Mutianyu. The bus left at 7AM and in 2 hours we were at the base of the wall. During the trip the tour guide explained the history of the wall and a bit of Beijing.

We could have hiked up to the wall via a path, but we chose to take the chairlift instead for the nice views. On top of the wall a tourist free Great Wall greeted us in every direction - the early start was worth it. The views were stunning, just take a look at the pictures. In one and a half hour we walked through 11 guard towers on the wall and then back. The toboggan that would have taken us down was unfortunately closed due to the rain in the morning.

On the way home we stopped at a local, authentic restaurant to have lunch. Petra again ate from everything here - she may end up liking Chinese food by the end of the trip :) We ended up back at the hotel by 4PM where we stayed and caught up with our blog writing.
