Najó, a mászás kicsit túlzás, ugyanis az 1519m magas hegyre a világ leghosszabb felvonója visz fel, ami Zhangjiajie város központjából indul. A felvonó 7455m hosszú, és hatalmas szakadékok felett siklik át, külön élmény rajta utazni, ha az ember nem fél a magasságtól (mint az egyik lány a cabinban).
Ok, climbing is a bit of an exaggeration. To get to the top of the 1519m high mountain we took the world’s longest cable car which conveniently left from the Zhangjiajie city center. The cable car is 7455 meters long and runs above huge valleys and chasms, in itself it’s an experience if you’re not afraid of heights (like one of the girls in our cabin was).
A hegytetőn több sétaútból lehet választani, de mindegyik a szakadék szélén visz. A peremen épült kis utakon egy-egy szakaszon üvegen is lehet menni, ami tovább erősíti az ember kisebbség érzetét. A látvány leírhatatlan, a képek nehezen adják vissza - de azért mi is megpróbáltuk lefotóztni.
On top of the mountain there were a few trails and most of them you can take on the edge of the mountain. At a few sections there are also glass walkways. The feeling of walking on the ledge and the views accompanying it are hard to describe and even the photos don’t fully reproduce the thrill, but regardless we tried to capture it.
A csúcson lehetett áldásokat írni piros szalagokra, mi is így tettünk és nevünket felírtuk egyre és felkötöttük egy fára. A pontos koordinátái 29˚2’54.72”N 110˚28’27.54”E egy 6 méteres hibával, ha valaki meg akarná keresni :)
At the top we also had the opportunity to leave a blessing on a red ribbon. We wrote our names on it and tied it to a tree. The exact coordinates are: 29˚2’54.72”N 110˚28’27.54”E with 6m error if someone wants to find it :)
Mennyek kapuja | Heaven’s Gate
A hegy egyik híressége az úgy nevezett Mennyek kapuja, ami egy természetes és hatalmas nyílás (313,5m magas). A tetőről a hegy gyomrába vájt 7 egymás utáni mozgólépcső visz le a kapu aljába, ahonnan további 999 meredek lépcsőn lehet lejutni a busz parkolóba. Szerencsére a busz út lefelé se unalmas, a 11km-es úton lévő 99 kanyar egészen hullámvasút élményt biztosít. Ha még nem tünt fel a kínaiaknál a 9-es szám hosszú életet jelent és általában a császárral van összefüggésbe.
One of the most famous aspects of the mountain is the Heaven’s Gate: a 313 tall hole. From the peak 7 escalators took us down to the bottom of the gate where we chose to scale 999 steep stairs to get down to the buses. The bus trip back to Zhangjiajie wasn’t boring either as there were 99 curves in the 11 kilometer road providing an almost rollercoaster-like experience. As you may have noticed there are quite a few 9-s in the numbers, this is because it symbolizes longevity and is usually associated with the emperor.
