Victoria Park
A második napunkat lazára vettük Hongkongban. A közeli pékségben vettünk reggelit, majd újra felpattantunk a Star Ferry egyik hajójára, ami egy másik helyen rakott ki minket. Itt sétálgattunk a városban majd amikor eljutottunk a Victoria parkig, leültünk és olvastunk egy kicsit.
We took it a bit easy on our second day in Hong Kong. After grabbing breakfast from the bakery nearby we again took the Star Ferry to Hong Kong island, just to a different port. We walked around Central for a bit until we got to Victoria Park where we read for a while.
Tim Ho Wan
Korai vacsira / késői ebédre már régebben kinéztünk egy éttermet (Tim Ho Wan) ami kinézetre egyszerű, és a szokásos dumplingokat árulja (itt ezeket Dim-Sum-nak hívják), de van egy Michelin csillaga! Azt hallottuk, hogy hatalmas sorok szoktak állni előtte, mivel olcsó és jó, ezért is mentünk korábban. Beültünk és megrendeltük azokat a fogásokat, amikről azt olvastuk, hogy a legjobbak. Az ételeket hamar kihozták, finomak is voltak, de messze nem a legjobbak, amiket eddig ettünk, úgyhogy kicsit csalódottan jöttünk el, nem ezt vártuk volna egy Michelin csillagos helytől. Például a pekingi Din Tai Fung párolt dumplingok jobban ízlettek.
For a while we’ve been eyeing the Michelin starred Tim Ho Wan dumpling restaurant for a late lunch / early dinner. We read online that they have extremely long waits since it’s a cheap, high quality, Michelin starred restaurant. Thankfully going in the dead zone between lunch and dinner there wasn’t any queue. We ordered the dishes that online reviewers said were the best. The food was very good, although not the best dim sum we’ve had in our opinion, so we left feeling a bit let down by the Michelin star. For an example we enjoyed the steamed dumplings we had at Din Tai Fung in Beijing.
