Egy nap a Zhangjiajie Nemzeti Parkban.
One day in the Zhangjiajie National Park.
Reggel kb. nyitásra mentünk a parkba, ami 1992 óta az UNESCO világörökség része, nem véletlenül. 48 km²-en elterülő karszt hegyek, szakadékok, barlangok és tavak találhatóak itt. A park teljes bejárásához 3-4 napot ajánlanak az útikönyvek, sajnos nekünk csak 1 napunk volt rá. A belépő ára drágább, mint amit megszoktunk máshol kínában (250 Yuan/fő, azaz kb. 10eFt/fő), de amint beértünk megértettük: saját kiépített buszrendszere van, amivel a nagyobb látványosságokhoz lehet menni, illetve folyamatosan bővítik és újítják a sétautakat is. Annyira jól ki vannak építve az utak, hogy elég sok magassarkú hölgyet láttunk a nap folyamán. Az egyik karszt hegy James Cameron Avatar-ja óta híresebbé vált, a szóbeszéd szerint ez ihlette a lebegő hegyek megalkotását, azóta át is nevezték a hegyet Hallelujah Mountainnak.
In the morning we got up early to get to the park’s 7AM opening time. The Zhangjiajie National Forest Park is a UNESCO World Heritage site since 1992 and rightly so. Karst mountains, steep cliffs, caves and lakes are spread across a 48 km² area. The guide books usually recommend 3-4 days to fully explore the park, but unfortunately we only had 1 day. The entrance fee was a bit more expensive than what we’re used to in other areas of China (250 Yuan/person, i.e. ~28£/person or 32€/person), but as soon as we got into the scenic area we understood: it has it’s own buses running inside the park connecting the main attractions and all the walkways are properly built and maintained. So much so that there were quite a few women who were in high heels. It is also said that these karst mountains were the inspiration for the floating mountains in James Cameron’s Avatar movie and in honor of it they renamed one of the peaks Hallelujah Mountain.
Mi végül 8-9 órát sétáltunk, volt keményebb lépcsőzés is, és így is csak két hegycsúcsra jutottunk fel. Menetközben találkoztunk Rhesus majmokkal akik után nevezték el az Rh vércsoportot.
We ended up hiking for 8-9 hours through the park, which included climbing many steps up to two peaks. During the day there were many Rhesus monkeys around - coincidentally this species contributed to the discovery and naming of the Rh blood type.
A park szebb kilátó pontjaiban hemzsegtek a helyiek, volt ahol lépésben lehett csak haladni az úton. Ezt elég hamar meguntuk, és keresünk kevésbé közkedvelt utakat, amik természetesen a lépcsősek voltak. Meg se lepődtünk másnap az izomlázon.
There were extreme crowds in the more popular areas of the park, in many cases we had to queue to get to the nice views. We got quite quickly bored of this and instead found a bit more off the beaten path areas, all of them requiring stairs. Unsurprisingly the next day we had sore muscles.
